SUBJECT: Points to Polys

Just a quick note here.
Mostly to remind folks not to do the bone-headed thing I have done.
Most of us are familiar with the time it takes to perform Boolean operations.
(at least us with the slow A2000's) I wanted to use the boundaries of a logo
to use the Boolean intersect function to get a spread of points in that same
shape. I made the grouping of points and converted them to polys using the
pointstopoly macro, and on the smaller parts of the logo was successful with
the Boolean operation. I ran out of time to finish and shut my system down.
The next day powered up and did the last large part of the logo and when the
operation was finished (2 hours later) -Nothing but the point spread in the
background. I scratched my head and did it again.
Nothing.
I did it again.
Nothing!
You'd think I would be learning something here, well I finally decided
to check out some things. (You may all have guessed by now) Punched the
W key and, whalla, no polys assigned. Zero. Nadda. I didn't save my points to
poly conversion.
*Smacks forehead*
Well I got it, but after 8 hours of processor time.
Hard to make money like that.
%^).
Lesson learned: don't mow your lawn inbetween Boolean functions!
Also::::
>I write this because one of the list readers (To my knowledge he never>answers
>questions on the list) wrote to me that this type of stuff was not to>be put o
>n the list and takes up list space, space people payed for.
It is good to advertise sale of lightwave related equip!
Just bought a third system from an advertisement on the list.
Units were getting hard to come by.
And one more thing::: (this is getting to become a long short note)
Any users in the Charlotte, NC area on the list....
I need some contacts!
Chow!
*Just wait'n on my Flyer board - Hmm uhm do de do*
Boast not thyself of tomorrow;
for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
